Dichroic Glass Price and Specification Guide: Thickness, Size, MOQ and Lead Time

Bulk dichroic glass raw-sheet references are approximately USD 15 per square meter for 2-3.2mm, USD 20 per square meter for 5-8mm and USD 25 per square meter for 10-12mm FOB China Port. Tempered finished glass is approximately USD 30-50 per square meter. These figures help with early budgeting, but the final quotation changes with substrate, color target, dimensions, cutting yield, processing, quantity and export packing.

Quick Price Reference

Type Common Use Reference FOB China Price What May Change the Final Price
2mm-3.2mm low-iron raw sheet Appliance panels, thin decorative inserts and framing applications About USD 15/sqm FOB China Port Exact thickness, substrate, sheet size, color series, quantity and export packing
5mm-8mm raw sheet Furniture, partitions, display cabinets and commercial interiors About USD 20/sqm FOB China Port Finished dimensions, cutting yield, edgework, holes, color matching and quantity
10mm-12mm raw sheet Architectural decoration, landscape glazing and heavy decorative panels About USD 25/sqm FOB China Port Jumbo handling, safety route, packing weight, transport and project drawings
Tempered finished dichroic glass Processed appliance, furniture, facade and landscape panels About USD 30-50/sqm Cutting, polished edges, holes, notches, tempering, printing, yield and quantity
15mm, laminated, IGU or jumbo custom route Large facades, safety glazing and project-specific structures Project quotation Glass build-up, PVB/SGP/EVA, IGU, spectral target, crate design and installation requirements

Thickness and Application Matrix

Thickness Typical Use Main Procurement Concern
1.1mm-3mm/3.2mm Appliance panels, electronic decoration, framing and lightweight inserts Flatness, handling, substrate color and assembly support
4mm-8mm Furniture, tables, partitions, display cabinets and commercial interiors Tempering, edge quality, scratches, color consistency and mounting
10mm-15mm Curtain walls, landscape structures and heavy architectural panels Safety build-up, weight, lifting, packing and structural review
Laminated or IGU construction Outdoor facades, public installations and thermal/safety glazing Interlayer, coating position, sealant compatibility and local code

Do not select thickness only from a price table. A 4mm furniture panel and a 12mm outdoor panel have different safety, handling and installation requirements even if the visual color target is identical.

Standard Sheet Sizes

Standard examples include 915 x 1220mm, 1830 x 1220mm, 1830 x 2440mm, 2440 x 3660mm, 2140 x 2660mm, 2140 x 3300mm, 2250 x 3300mm, 2250 x 3660mm and 3300 x 4880mm. Jumbo coating can be reviewed up to 3300 x 16000mm. The complete common thickness list is 1.1mm, 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm and 15mm. The latest commercial price tier also uses 3.2mm for selected thin raw-sheet enquiries, so buyers should state whether the required route is 3mm or 3.2mm rather than treating them as interchangeable. The biggest sheet is not automatically the lowest-cost choice. The correct mother sheet is the one that fits the finished size list with the least offcut waste. A cutting layout can reduce material loss and make the delivered square-meter cost more predictable.

Raw Sheet vs Tempered Finished Glass

Raw sheets are suitable for wholesalers and processors that already control cutting, edging, drilling and tempering. The buyer takes responsibility for coating protection, processing compatibility and final quality. Tempered finished panels cost more because the factory reviews the drawing, cutting yield, edgework, holes, tempering cycle, inspection and packing. For mixed-size furniture or facade projects, processed delivery can reduce coordination risk even when the unit price is higher.

What Changes the Final Price

Low-iron substrate normally costs more than standard clear float glass but gives a cleaner transmitted color. Custom spectral matching requires measurement, trial coating and sample approval. Many mixed sizes create more offcut waste than repeated standard panels. Polished edges, bevels, holes, notches, silk-screen printing, tempering, lamination and IGU construction each add production steps. Jumbo sheets also change handling, crate design, container loading and installation planning.

MOQ and Trial Orders

Standard thicknesses and sizes support flexible MOQ and trial-order review. A free standard A4 sample can be supplied, with international courier freight paid by the buyer. Special thicknesses, non-standard jumbo coating or custom production generally require a standard 20-foot-container quantity or a production-plan agreement. Confirm the color, thickness and production route before promising a minimum order to a project client.

Lead Time

Stock standard sizes and thicknesses generally require 7-10 days after prepayment to arrange packing and shipment. Custom specifications or large deep-processing orders generally require 15-25 days. These are planning references. Final timing depends on sample approval, drawing confirmation, processing quantity, crate design and shipping schedule.

Buying Mistakes to Avoid

Do not compare PET film pricing with inorganic coated glass as if the products have the same outdoor life. Do not approve color from a phone photo. Do not provide only total area; send each finished size and quantity. Do not choose a jumbo sheet before confirming unloading and installation equipment.

How North One Glass Supports Cost Control

North One Glass can compare the size list against multiple standard mother sheets, recommend a cutting plan and supply either raw sheets or processed panels. Radiant orange, radiant blue and radiant green are standard families, while a physical sample or spectral target can be reviewed for custom production.

Quotation Preparation Notes

Send the target color or sample, substrate, thickness, raw-sheet or finished dimensions, quantity per size, processing drawing, safety build-up, sample requirement, destination port and required schedule. State whether the price comparison should be FOB, CIF or another trade term.

FAQ

Is USD 15 per square meter available for every dichroic glass order?

No. It is a bulk FOB reference for the 2-3.2mm raw-sheet tier. Substrate, exact thickness, size, color route, quantity and packing affect the quotation.

Is an A4 sample really free?

A standard A4 dichroic sample can be supplied free, while the buyer pays DHL, FedEx, UPS or equivalent international courier freight.

Can a small trial order use a custom color?

Standard stock colors support more flexible trials. A custom spectral color may require a larger production quantity because the coating line needs a dedicated production plan.
